>>> Is Stomach Fat Unhealthy

Is Stomach Fat Unhealthy! While no person will ever let you know losing weight and staying healthy is something easy to do, for people like me managing a disability, reducing your weight and staying healthy is even more difficult. No matter whom you listen to, anyone referring to weight loss will tell you that without exercise, your chances of shedding pounds are even more complicated. As someone managing a disability along with the instability inside my legs, exercise is not always an option, so I am left more to think about my diet and making changes having a healthy diet plan.

Before I was identified as having an autoimmune disease, I was an extremely active person. However, a couple of years back, after the birth of my 2 middle children, I had gained some weight and planned to take the pounds off. At the time, the South Beach Diet was popular, and after attempting to use the Slim Fast diet, I decided to move to the beach and present this south thing a go.

According for the book, you are supposed to start the diet plan with two weeks of no carbs whatsoever. As someone having a high carb addiction, that's a bit worrisome, but I figured I could give it a shot. Well, that worked for approximately 3 days after which I just couldn't take it anymore. I skipped ahead within the program to week 3 and began gradually adding carbs back in my diet, and it worked very well. I can't really say that I followed the South Beach Diet completely, as I really didn't. I read the novel, "The South Beach Diet", and took from that what I thought is acceptable. In 4 months, I lost 40lbs. I was thrilled.

However, as with all diet, I started getting lazy, and after that my activity level decreased when I was informed they have an autoimmune disease and also the pounds came back on. A few doses of steroids to control inflammation, as well as the idea of keeping my slim figure went out the window. I have not gained just as much as I used to be, but I am not happy with where I am, so I am determined 2011 will almost certainly bring change.

I am using the advice I learned from the South Beach Diet, looking to eliminate simple carbs, so forget about potato chips or French fries. I am going from the most popular white bread or rolls to prospects with more complex carbs for example multigrain or whole wheat grains. The amount of protein in my meals is increasing, as well as vegetables (I am not the largest fan of veggies).

I am also eating more. I know, that sounds crazy right? But really, I am ordinarily a person that will go all day surviving on only a pot of coffee until dinner time and this is just not good. Only feeding one's body once a day makes it scared it is going to never get food, then when you give it food, it will require it all and stores it fat. When I am body fat and get healthy, I try you can eat 6 times every day (3 meals and 3 snacks), and as much as it sounds crazy, consuming more of the correct food at regular intervals functions boost your metabolism. As someone having a disability instead of very physically active, keeping my metabolism high works wonders.

Now, I know that I won't be a size2, and frankly, I don't want to be. But, for the people of us that are forced to live a less active life as a result of disability, keeping charge of what you eat, and eating the right things often, can help to keep us from gaining excessive levels of weight that's no good for us.

Now, for the people of you reading this article who also is suffering from an autoimmune disease and disability, this entire no carbs, balanced diet idea tends to go out of the question when you have to be with a dose of steroids. Sorry. I haven't found any situation that replaces carbs and chocolate in big amounts when on prednisone, but when you do, please feel free to share your secrets.
